This is a really easy kid activity to go with Leo Lionni's Little Blue and Little Yellow, (affiliate link) a delightful book about color mixing.
It's so easy you don't really need much in the way of instructions. All I did was cut a few cellophane shapes out of blue and yellow cellophane which Kiddo played around with as he followed along with the story.
Once he had the shapes, he even used them to tell the story to himself while I was busy with other things.
Best of all, this is a no-mess activity!

This looks like an activity I'd like to try. Our library has the book, where do you get cellophane?

I've seen the book, but I never thought of the cellophane. Must remember the cellophane!

I love this idea! This book is one of Emily's favorites, and I know she would enjoy acting out the book with colored cellophane. How cool!

I have done something like the colored cellophane using jello jigglers. I made blue and yellow jello jigglers and used a cookie cutter or small cup to make them into the circle shape. At snack time the children overlapped the blue and yellow jello to make green. Voila! Can be done with other color combinations.

I bet the kids LOVE that!!

Love it. Clean up by just eating the jello. What a fun way to learn colors.

Cool! I wanna play with cellophane now- I have a feeling my kids would be enamored with it for a long time.

We love cellophane so much, we use it for our "stained glass" window art, too.
