I have a small problem.
It happens every year.
I start to make paper snowflakes.
And I can't stop!
I have piles of paper snowflakes. It's like a paper snow storm in here. It's a little crazy.
Sort of like me.
What do I do with this paper blizzard? I need a plan of action. So I present to you:
What to do with paper snowflakes when they take over your life.
But first, in order to make sure that you are as addicted as I am to making paper snowflakes, watch my handy video so you, too, can bury your family in a mound of paper snow.

I will also tempt you to make your own paper blizzard by enticing you with...
Types of Paper to Use to Make Snowflakes
- Plain old white or colored construction paper
- Origami paper. This is my favorite because it is thin, colorful and already in squares!
- Cello Sheets (another of my favorites)
- Tissue paper
- Waxed paper
- Freezer paper
- Coffee filters
- Doilies
- Scratch paper
- Junk mail!
- Those free calendars that never stop coming in the mail this time of year. (Sort of hard to cut when folded, though)
- Patterned paper from your art bucket
What to do with Paper Snowflakes
Stick them to your windows and walls.
Create a garland using invisible thread, or double sided tape and hang them in the window or on the tree.
Turn them into a snowflake wreath!
One year I turned them all into ornaments for the tree simply by hanging them with an ornament hook.
If you happen to make a ton of cellophane snowflakes (ahem), make a snowflake stained glass window.
Use them to decorate wrapped packages.
Tie them to a stick and make a snowflake wall hanging.
Hang them separately from your ceiling all over the house. See how pretty it looks!
Turn paper snowflakes into a table runner!
Use several garlands to make a snowflake curtain.
Uses panels of paper snowflakes to create a pendant light. Imagine the pretty shadows you will get!
Make one of those tissue paper kid craft mason jars. You know what I'm talking about, right?
Recycle them and make more next year!
If you don't want to use paper, you can make snowflake window clings out of glue!
BONUS IDEA:
Your kids can cut out paper snowflakes while you read aloud one of these awesome books about snow.
Try another fun paper holiday craft. Watch this and see how you can turn math into a fractal holiday treat!

We used to make scads of these at work and hang them from the ceiling with t-pins and thread. It looked like it was snowing! I was getting really good at it making really intricate designs...some people could only manage a doily, but when they were all together, it didn't matter. It looked awesome!
