We've had Castle Logix for more than 7 years now, and somehow it has escaped being featured as a game of the month. Oversight corrected!

How to play:
Castle Logix is a single player 3 dimensional puzzle game. It consists of 4 blocks and 3 tower pieces and booklet of 48 challenges ranging from beginner to expert. The objective of each challenge is to fit the blocks together to match the corresponding photo.
Tips for playing:
Kids as young as 3 or 4 can start on the beginning puzzles. Independent minded kids will enjoy playing Castle Logix themselves, but parents who have more easily frustrated kids can sit down to assist when necessary. I have one of each type of kid and both enjoyed playing this game. To be honest, I quite enjoyed the challenges myself ( *cough -- the expert level of course -- *cough ).
Skills worked:
Castle Logix fits right in with the emphasis on STEM education these days. The game helps kids practice the following skills:
- Spatial reasoning
- Problem solving
- Engineering
- Logical reasoning
Why you should leave this game lying around:
I purchased this game when my older son was about 3 or 4 but when my younger son was a toddler, he enjoyed playing around with the pieces. The game ended up doubling as a great toddler toy because he loved to fit the towers into the blocks and the pieces are nice and chunky so they are easy for little hands. Finding ways to repurpose games for younger kids always gives me a bit of a thrill (it does for you too, right?).
In addition, because the pieces resemble a castle, kids like to use the blocks and towers in pretend play scenarios, thus giving you even more milage with the game!
