The charming Aunt Lilly owns a Brooklyn laundromat where she sorts, washes, dry and folds laundry, all the while thinking about her childhood in Haiti. Lilly takes pride in her work and when she has a quiet moment she creates paintings based on her childhood memories.
With Melanie's coloring page, your child can experience their own quiet moment with art. And they will love designing their own art for the frame around the main illustration.

Here's what the illustration looks like in Melanie's book, Aunt Lilly's Laundromat.
Melanie discusses the illustration she chose for the coloring page:
This art is about the tradition theme of the book as Aunt Lilly thinks back to her own childhood with her grandmother brushing her hair and singing the song Aunt Lilly sings at the beginning of the book. Aunt Lilly also sings the same song at the end of the book with her young niece.
