Remember when I gave you a list of 40 household items you can use to create spectacular, eye-popping STEAM and STEM projects right now?
Well, now I'm back with 52 STEAM projects for you and your kids to make with those items.
That's the equivalent of one project per week for one whole year.
Think what geniuses your kids will be in one year's time! (Okay, I'm sure that your kids, just like mine are already geniuses, so think of how much extra genius they will be.) And all without Minecraft.
Okay, I bet you are wondering about this brilliant book.
STEAM KIDS: 50+ science/technology/engineering/art/math/hands-on projects for kids.
STEAM Kids takes all the best STEAM projects and presents them in one easy-to-use format that will delight your kids and won't leave you pulling your hair out. - Brenda, Schooling A Monkey
I collaborated with some super talented women, including an MIT engineer, award winning educators, graphic designers, and homeschooling experts to create this resource. It's good for teachers, homeschoolers and regular-old parents like you and me. If a little ol' theater nerd me can co-author a book about science and math geeky stuff, you can certainly do all these projects no matter what your educational background. (P.S. I helped write the book, so obviously I am an affiliate.)
This book will turn you into Ms. Frizzle, but with more conservative fashion sense. —Julie

This gorgeous, beautifully photographed book is like candy for your eyes. But the creative ideas inside are the real treat. This book is filled with so many fun, educational, accessible, and unique activities. Teachers and parents will find plenty of ideas that inspire kids to build, think, learn, and create. I've been working in the STEAM space for quite a while, and even I found many new and exciting activities in this book to try with my kids and students. —Katie, Gift of Curiosity

Erica, can you tell me for what ages this is geared? I have an 8 and 10 year old and am wondering if it is geared more for the preschool/early elementary set or a bit older. (I get that there are things that hit both age groups, but not all do.)
Erica says
Hi Colleen, It is geared towards 4-10 year olds. Your kids are on the upper age. You could also download the free list of all the activities which comes with two sample projects to see if you think it is appropriate. The link for that is near the bottom of the post. Here it is again: http://buff.ly/2caUpWH

I teach 5-8 math, do you think these activities would be too young for 10-14 year olds?
Erica says
Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for asking. I do think that activities are better suited for the 10 and under crowd. -- Erica
