A very easy way to keep your kids entertained without the help of screens is to show them how to design their own stickers! This simple art project has two parts. First, kids will make the stickers. Then, they will use them.
Double the fun!
I came upon this idea spontaneously when I discovered a hoard of blank office label stickers in the craft box. As my son's custom stickers demonstrate, you don't need to display a lot of talent for design to have get your creative juices going.
If if kids just want to make solid color stickers, that's fine, too.

Instructions
What you need:
- Plain white stickers in any shape and size. White label stickers like these will work just fine.
- Markers or fine liner pens.
Optional: scissors, if you plan to cut shapes out of larger stickers
Give children the labels and the markers. Watch them create their own stickers. That's it!
Variations
If you have full page sized stickers like these children can draw their sticker designs and then cut them to shape.
Provide different shaped stickers like dots, fancy shaped labels or even reinforcement donut stickers to get kids' brain bending in all sorts of directions.
How to Use Custom Stickers
Your child may wish to add their newly designed stickers to their artwork, notebooks or other school supplies.
Even preschoolers can make and use their own diy stickers. Peeling stickers off backing paper is good fine motor exercise. My son's younger brother likes to place stickers in his pre-writing journal.
Office supply stickers are also good for toddler dot-to-dot and resist painting.
