Today I'm bringing you more than 50 top kids activities. All of these are activities that parents will love because they are easy and fun. This list of the best children's ideas include crafts, education and parenting posts to keep you busy all year long.
My most visited page of the year, as it is every year, is my gigantic list of indoor activities for kids, but I thought it might be fun to share with you my most popular single activity, non-book posts that I published this year, all of which you can find on the aforementioned list.

Top 5 Indoor Kids Activities
5. Mondrian stained glass. We love to decorate our windows and the kids and I used a tape-resist technique directly on the glass to design our own Mondrian-style "stained glass" window.
4. Zentangles with a 5 year old. In general, my son tells me he "hates art." Yet, a simple zentangle activity and open-ended philosophy got him drawing with abandon.
3. Handwriting practice for kids. Handwriting is a big struggle around here due to fine motor delays. Find out how I got my youngest son excited to write a letter.
2. Regrowing Vegetable Scraps. This is a fun activity for the dreary days of winter when the garden is bare. Turn trash into food!
Drum roll......
1. Pi Art Skyline. My math-loving son and I took the number sequence, pi, and turned it into art. This post went a little nuts around March 14 (3.14), which is Pi Day. I was delighted to have inspired so many math nerds!
The very top kids activities posts were round-ups of ideas. The following posts were my top non-book related posts:
1. Math Art Projects. Neither of my kids are as enthusiastic about art as they are about numbers, but these activities that combine the two get their creative juices flowing.
2. 20 Indoor ball games. You can be sure, given the cold days ahead, that the boys will be tossing and rolling a few balls around the apartment.
3. Indoor activities for toddlers. 42 super easy boredom busters for the little guys.
Stay tuned for more! This month I am hosting an indoor activities for kids series with 10 or so other bloggers. Each Friday, starting next week, we will be bringing you a new activity to keep your kids from whining "I'm boooored" during the long winter months.
UPDATE:
Here are the amazingly easy indoor ideas from the aforementioned series. Add these to your own list of top kids activities to do at home!
Dots and Boxes: an easy pencil and paper game you can play anywhere. It's a mind bending logic game that gets kids thinking.
Land, Sea and Air: an indoor gross motor game that kids will love and requires no set up whatsoever! A totally genius idea to do when the kids are bouncing around and driving you bananas.
Paper Airplane Landing Strips: Take this traditional craft to the next level! Making paper airplanes was never so much fun.
I also love this resource for more kid activities!
