My daughter and I enjoyed this eye opening book. I also recommend Boy at the Back of the Class (on this list) as a gentle introduction to a hard topic. Infused with humour, it certainly taught my children a lot!

I can recommend Orange for the Sunsets, which is a middle grade novel set in 1972 Uganda and addresses the expulsions of the Indians in Uganda under Amin. It is an excellent book. I recommended it on this list: https://www.whatdowedoallday.com/anti-bias-middle-grade-books/

I wonder if, in your research, you came across any books specifically about refugees leaving Uganda during the dictatorship of Idi Amin. My mother-in-law was one of those refugees and it would be so valuable for my son to learn more about that. Thank you.
