Science Fiction is usually set in the future. This is realistic fiction.

That's a great book. I do have it on other lists! I consider it less of a science fiction book in the classical sense, but always a good choice!

It's a great book about problem solving, and kids love it. My daughter shared that book with her preschool class and they all wanted her to bring in the rest of the series (Iggy Peck, Architect and Rosie Revere, Engineer), PLUS the teacher led them in performing some of the experiments from the book. It's a great hit!
