Two of my favourite snow books that the children at school love are Claudia Rueda's Bunny Slopes and Sam Usher's Snow. Oh and almost forgot Otto the Book Bear in the Snow by Katie Cleminson...oh there are so many good snow stories.

I love Red Sled and when I read it aloud, I always keep the gender of the child neutral (I just read it in a way that doesn't need me to say he or she.) I think this child is a beautiful "every child". More and more, I like to look for opportunities to leave gender ambiguous so that we're not simply reinforcing gender cues (long eyelashes, etc). This is a perfect book for that.

I have to say, instead of snow books, I love to look at the snowpeople created by Calvin in the Calvin and Hobbes comic strips! They are my absolute favorite. Bill Waterson cracks me up 🙂
