I teach students who are learning English and I'm always on the lookout for books that reflect other cultures. This is a wonderful list to choose from. I look forward to reading one of them on our first day of school!

I only know 3 of the books on the list! But I'll definitely check some of these out to possibly share with my 3rd grade students.

My favorite first day of school book I see First Day Jitters...it helps the students know that it's okay to be nervous...and the students enjoy the surprise ending.

Another book similar to The Name Jar is My Name is Yoon.
