It is entitled "Come Walk in the Fynbos with Me". It would fit perfectly in your Nature group. In it a child and an adult set off on a walk through one of the most diverse biomes on earth--the fynbos at the very tip of Africa. The landscape from a distance seems dull, grey scrubland, but the twosome soon discovers the bizarre shapes, flashes of brillance and peculiar habits of the plants nestled in teh dry landscape. They cross the paths of birds, bees, snakes and animals that inhabit and help sustain the fynbos. This is a place that few will visit but many may come to love through this picture book walk. I have also a short teachers guide to introducing biomes and the cycle of life that perpetuates them. This can be a jumping off point for a wider exploration of biomes.
